I need to create a window for a project i’m working on. See attached.  Any suggestions that would get me going in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

I need to put in a bunch so i want them to all edit together if i adjust one.

Maybe this one could be useful for you, you just have to modify it.......

Have you worked with creating custom windows before?? this is a pretty easy one, you will just have to learn how families and parameters work.

erland 73:  i tried that window yesterday but only 1/2 of it cut correctly into my wall.  other half was full of bricksWinking

allen Ball:  I watched a two part toutirial yesterday about creating window families and tried it w/out succes.  but after thinking about it last night as i was trying to sleep, i might have figured out my error.  I'm going to give it another try shortly after hitting the caffeine.

THANKS BOTH

ok.  i made the window family by following the directions in this revit vid. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QIHVkUYSPjk the same way i did yesterday. Again, i have the some problem... the glass is not constrained to the frame. I don't understand...?

When i cnage the inset dim such that the window moves into the wall in plan the frame moves nicely leaving the glass out in oz.  THat will not pass the blower door test!

 Any ideas?

i was missing a dim constraint on the glass. I thought i hade done that but some how missed that step.

Now the design is changing again and it looks like i'll need to do it all again.  blek!
