Hi Folks,

Trying to make a circular extrusion with variable parameters as per the attached sketch. The extrusion is to be dimensioned in two parts (V1 & V2 as per the attached) making either end variable but maintaining a central point which we can set with the use of parameters. The radius (V4 as per the attached)  extrusion is variable also set by paramters. The problem is with the angle (V3 as per the attached).

We have tried a sweep but the V1 & V2 dims (as per the attached) cannot  be locked to the central point of the sweep, but the angle (V3) almost working correctly. If use an extrusion the V1 & V2 dims working great but we cannot add the angle parameter.

Has anyone set up a family (preferably an extrusion) with an angle parameter?

Might not be your issue.. But don't forget reference planes cannot rotate when flexing.  Reference lines can.

hey guys, I'm trying to make a parametric profile family to be used in in-place sweeps to cap the centre peak of a metal roof. I want to be able to manually edit the angle of the flashing but I can't figure it out. I think I could do it if reference LINES were available in the profiles editor, but only reference PLANES are. I've attached an image of what I'm trying to do; as soon as a change the angle, I get "contraints not satisfied" and the lines loose their association, the reference plane moves but the lines stay where they are. Any advice? thanks.

thanks teafoe, this method got me close but not quite there. I still couldn't get the little return on the flashing to work so I went in a different direction. Instead of attaching angle parameters directly to the lines, I made some X and Y parameters and used the angle in some trig formulas. Kind of created a grid.

Thanks for the response though.
