I work for a comparny that manufactures bathroom partitions. We currently use AutoCAD and have our blocks create a Bill of Materials that will export to a program in which our inventory is placed. Looking foreward we would like to move to Revit. I was wondering with families in Revit if we would be able to adapt a Bill of Materials to that specific family. Also, i was wondering if we would be able to attach a price as well. We are looking at sending our BIMs to architects and when the model the family that the price would change. For example, in the family we have our hardware preloaded and the architect selects what type of hardware that this would appear on the drawing and have the correct price. Can anyone tell me if this is possible and if so how i should go about creating the Bill of Materials?

The answer is yes ... but obviously, you haven't done any reading at all.  Visit the AutoDESK site.  There is much information there and you can even install the program and use for free for a short period.
