In my office, our projects move through in stages (separate folders on our server): Prelim, Current, Construction Admin, and Archive. The project file is kept in a folder structure in which we keep all of our project-custom materials, components, and so forth. We have discovered how to relink most everything when we move a project into a different phase except for material image files, even when they're being moved with the rest of the project. Is there any way to link these relatively, or are there any other work-arounds aside from keeping these custom material files in a static location?

Why don't you copy everything to another folder and rename your current folder to the current phase. In that way, you don't have to re-link anything....The other folders are really just frozen copies - right? You will never really work with those but if you need to, you can adjust then.
