Having trouble getting steel angle kickers to schedule properly - see attached. We created this family starting with template "Structural Framing - Beams and Braces.rft". The idea is to use this family to draw a kicker on a framing plan much like the way you draw purlins between beams. When the distance between parallel beams is less than 5'-0", the family will pick a L4X3X3/8 kicker; when 5'-0" or greater, a double L4X3X1/4. We can get the formulas shown in the family type window to select the appropriate angle (a parameter in the "Other" category) depending on this distance between the beams. But we cannot get those formulas to select a specific family type (either (2)L4X3X1/4 or L4X3X3/ so that we can schedule the angles. How best can we get the different types to be selected automatically and scheduled properly? Thanks in advance.
