I need to get a window to cut it's hole through the finish/insulation layers, and a smaller hole through the structural core/interior layers. I've attached a detail from CAD for what i wish i could get Revit to do... this way the inside of the window jamb, sill, and head is flush with the structural wall. Thank you for your help...

You can delete your opening cut in the window family and add a void cut to cut the wall.  Can't have both.

ok, i've changed the window family so that the wall is cut by 2 voids, one for the core and interior, and a 2nd for the exterior of the wall and window frame. but the void also removes the whole window i built inside it! how do you tell the void to only cut the wall, not anything else?

Nevermind. it seems i accidentally deleted the whole window frame along with the cut line. the two voids do exactly what i need! thank you!
