We have a project with several links inserted into a central model (7 in total). The facade has been split into 3 separate links due to its complexity/size.

A member of my team doesn't want the facade links, so he unloads them in his local file. Everytime he save to central the links disapear and as i am working on the facade you can imagine how annoying it can be, particularly as i like to save ever 10-15 mins or so.

I thought there was a way to open a drawing and within the options specify a the links you want open only. So when you save to central it doesnt affect the central file and all connecting locals.

Is this possible or was it a dream???????????

You could place the links on there own seperate worksets and have him turn off that workset in his file so he doesn't see that particular link.

The options you have when opening a file are workset related, not Links.  Why doesn't your team member just hide the link himself in his local file and everyone plays nice together.

Mattman had it right.... assign the link to a workset and load reduced worksets!

Cheers fellas,

We just got him to switch the links off in his views, and changed a couple of worksets in the links also.

You try and play nice, but theres always one.... Winking
