Hi, Is it possible to create a fascia profile that includes a void so that when this fascia is placed onto the edge of a roof it cuts it to fit the fascia profile at the roof edge? The fascia I need to create is not flat on the side it attaches to the roof. cadjockey

I am not aware of there being a way as fascias etc are profiles rather than solids which means you can't add a void. The way I use at present is to create an in place component comprising void form only on the roof edge to the shape I want and then cut geometry tool, picking roof and then picking the void shape. this unfortunatly does not go round corners so any awakward shapes won't mitre when done seperately on different edges. Any other solutions ?

An in-place family void can be set to cut a profile to trim it at your wall if needed.

Hi Mr Spot, Slowly but surely I am getting there. I have attached a close up section of my fascia and it's position at the roof end. I need to show the roof lining projecting beyond the top of the fascia and cut the structure of the roof below to the profile of the fascia. As it would be constructed. Are you saying that I would need to create a sweep cut matching the shape that will cut the roof accordingly? cadjockey
