I'm trying to make a custom Hexagon Curtain wall Panel (using version 2010)

my problem is i cant move the original reference lines that come standard in the file.  i know you can adjust the grids, but my hexagon panel doesnt have an equal widths, which you can see from the attached image

also, is there a way to rotate the original grid so the points of the hexagon are at the top instead of the side?

any help would be greatly appreciated! thanks

Why don't you just create some dimensions and give it Parameters to control those "Default" References Lines?

i tried that originally, but it seems like the reference planes are tied to the grid. which i guess makes sense in theory, but not all sides of my octogon panel are equal, and the grid by default has to be equal.
