I have placed columns on my floor plan, but they are not showing up in other views or enlarged plans. Am I missing a setting somewhere? I have the detail level set to fine and I am fairly sure everything is visible.

What are your enlarged plans? Are they detail callouts? If so, then certain elements do not show in these types of callouts/views (never understood why they did this, maybe to do with the ability for these views to have odd cut angles). If this is the case you'll have to change your views to non-details views in order to get these elements to display. This will involve creating new callouts of the same type and then copy and pasteing all detail information from the existing view. Unfortunately you can't just switch the view type. Either that or your using structural columns which by default are set to display as per structural standards on the level above... In this case use architectural columns. HTH.
