SO i have a dilemma here and was wondering if anyone had the answer or if it's just a glitch. so I have these elevation tags that are on my elevations and for some reason everytime we open up the drawing they are moved. Like sometimes they are moved way off to the side and sometimes they are removed. I've spent half a day fixing these and pinning them to their location. But then when i save to central again and open up the drawing after i get back from lunch the tags are moved and removed. And no one else has touched them. Anybody have any ideas on this or if its a glitch. Thanks

Please be clearer when you use the term "elevation" because it has more that one use. I do not know how you can have elevation "tags" in an elevation view - just can't be done. So do you mean the drafting element spot dimension (spot elevation)?

well we made material tags but called them elevation tags because they are used in the elevations. Sorry for the mix up. But yah the material tags that are in the elevations seem to keep moving

Are these really "material tags" or annotation groups to look like a tag? If they are tags, are they free end? Do they have leaders?

If they have leaders and they are material tags, then they point to the edge of the wall right? Because material tags can only see edges. .... or did you free the ends and move the arrows?

OK... Now I think I have got all the information... First - if you are the only one working on the project, then you are the problem. I can't pin down your problem exactly but here are some thoughts. Tags typically go to the defines origin crossing of families. For walls, floors, ceilings, they seem to locate at the edge point where you select the item. If you move the call-out that defines the view in any way, you run the risk of tags moving. If you do anything with the element being tagged, you run the risk of tags moving. Experiment with free ends on your tags and see if that helps. If the element being tagged moves at all though, the tag might become lost and show a ? but that may help you understand what you are doing.

k so i think everybody in my office is working on this project. but i am the only one working on the elevations. so i don't know it might be someone moving stuff in the floor plan. but everything is pretty much set and shouldn't be moved. i tried free ends but when i do it they just completely move away from my text where they were originally placed. like pretty much after i move them and save to central 2 min later a couple of them are moved and noone has been on the project where i am working on it
