why does a the family of standard pendant lights ghost out? the family inserts into the drawing but is only invisble in "shading with edges" view display, attachment shows it with SD display and red when it is selected. In ordinary plan view it dissappears. "lighting fixutures" is set to display in the view.

Steve, did you check the family? the visibility parameters? can you put here that family so I can take a look???

its the stock pendant fixture that comes with v2009. It is set to "visible". ee attached.

Steve, sorry but i can't get the problem, your images is in "Ceiling Plan view" or what???

i notice that if i manually pick it and, using overide graphics in view/patter/(change to) LINEWEIGHT=2, COLOR=BLOACK PATTERN=SOLID that it now displays.

I figured it out. Ceiling plan view ranges need to re reset or else you don't see the fixure. top: 3' (best I can tell this is sort of your eye level from which the plan looks up) bottom 1' (this seems to be the level at which the plan is cut, must be below "top" view depth: 11' or whatever ceiling height is. (view depth is upside down from a plan view. it is how far UP you look.

One last adustment req'd. "object styles" / lighting fixtures is set to white... reset to black.
