Revit Architecture 2009 - file size 148,000KB

All of our wall types which have GWB have a surface hatch (for GWB).  I would like to remove this, but when I go to change the hatch to "none" in the wall types, Revit begins going through all walls on the project, gets to 50% then runs out of memory and crashes out.

My IT guy has built me a new computer, hoping it would be fixed (and other issues).  Any ideas? Thank you.

You create a name to that material (GWB) right? Go to Settings>Material find the material you want and remove the hatch surface from that, see if in this way you solve the problem, if not say something....

That's what I had done, and when Revit / the computer was trying to remove the hatch pattern, it was searching out all views and wall types etc. that had this and was attempting to remove them.  This was such an arduous task for it that the program was crashing out.

I emailed another contact, and they recommended changing my system to run on 3GB of memory and taking from Windows at startup.  This worked, but almost crashed out.  No more patterns!
