Hi all,

Im having trouble with my 2010 version of Revit. I am recieving a message from revit informaing me that my memory is reaching its critical limit. Twice a day Revit will close unexpectedly without a recovery save option.

Direct 3D is turned off and I am not running any other programs.

Does anyone know how to fix this problem??

 Thanks, Matt

How large are the files you are working on?

Do you have a lot of views open?

If you are running 32bit windows then you technically only 3GB of RAM.  Which isn't a lot for larger files.  If you files are over or around 100MB 8GB is recommend and 64bit OS to make use of it of course...

I also assume you have correctly set your page file to be twice your physical RAM amount?

The file im working on is around 50MB

Most of the time i do have a number of windows open since i usually don't close i just select a new view form the browser so they would all sit there in the background.

my page file is set to maximum 4096 i think thats the right figure isn't it?

I would suggest having no more than 3 or 4 views open simultaneously... That should help your issue.  For every view you have open Revit has to constantly update the graphics every time you add or change something.  The less views the less it has to do.

50MB should be fine with 3GB of RAM and 4Gb swap file.
