yes this is the same and the one called importing not there. i tryed the fix the name but it wont change (did not want tpeople to get confused) Hello all I am Importing an image in to Revit 2009 using Import/Link > image... I have used a png, jpg (big and small file size) and a tiff. I have imported images before and there are a lot of images in the project I am trying to import this one it to. I have gone in to the Visibility/Graphic and everything is on. I am trying to import it on to a sheet, I have delete the sheet many of times and made a new one, I have all so tried to import it on to a drafting view. When I import it comes in as a little dot. I can go in to the Element Properties of it and its height and width is zero. When I change it to have a size it becomes that size however it is blank (just a frame). Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Try re-booting your system. I just had that problem ... I ran cc-cleaner first - that didn't fix it by itself but the re-boot did.

Do a test in another project using a local stored image and this remote image. Let us know what happens.

Ok the images I have will not import in to any file so I am thinking the images I have my be corrupted or something along that line. I am going to ask for new ones to see if that will help. I will keep trying to see if I can find out what is going on. However I was able to import other images into Revit. Something i found. I think I may have all so found the limit to the max image fill which can be imported in to revit. I could import up to 3,399kb image but I could not import one 3,503kb and up. I was using jpg images for this test. I could not find and image that fell between the two but I am thinking 3,500kb might be the max.

Think about this... How much ram do you have available? It is very easy to fill up memory with image files. I know that I had 2 sheets each with 6 8.5x11 images on them and I had trouble opening those sheets to print. I had to print those sheets first before any others. Even though yhou close a view, not all memory is returned for use and that lost space grows. That is why we recommend that you close revit at least once a day to clear that lost memory. Why are you placing such large images? Resize them to something compatable with what your output will be. Printed sheets do not need high resolution images.

I have sized them down the smallest I could save them was 1.4 mb however they still did not work.I put the max file up because I read some post asking about what the max file size was. I could not find the post when after I found out. If I am getting this right. What you are saying about the ram is depending on the amount of ram a computer has will determine how large or small of an image Revit will take. My comp has 3 GB of ram.

I just found out how to change the image from 24x36 to a smaller one (i made it 12x18 ) which cut the file size in half and I was able to import it. Thank you for all of your help.
