Is there a way to show the actual frames of the door in Plan View. The frames are not visible on the out-of-the-box doors, and I need them to show, even if it is just a 2x rectangle.

Most of the out of the box doors do not include any frame. If they do, you need to make sure to check or modify the settings within the door family so the frame displays at the scale and detail level you desire.
There are many doors on this site that you can download that do include a frame.
