Hello all, I have been reading many posts that have stated users' system specs when it comes to running Revit on the x64 OS.

I currently have Windows Vista x64 with two memory cards of 2 Gig each. To gain more memory (such as the 12 Gigs I've been reading about) is it as simple as buying more memor?

I'd like to learn how to beef up my laptop the best I can!

it sounds like you may be running the max memory your motherboard will allow. I would check the manufacturers specs to verify you can add more. I bet at most you could install (2) 4 GB of RAM giving you 8 GB RAM total. I have not seen a laptop that has more than that.

What model is your laptop?

I'll have to get back with you on that as I want to find that out myself.  You mentioned motherboard and that got me thinking about limitations.

What I know off the top of my head is that it is a Sony VAIO with (2) 2gig memory cards.

I am running Windows Vista (Ultimate)x64

I am an animation student and wanting to make this comp a powerhouse.

Currently it has (2) 64 gig hard-drives on it.

As for the rest I'll have to look into it later.
