2 Questions...

1) is there an easy way to change the orientation of a family? For example I made a simpon hanger, but made the front of the hanger the top in the family editor, so it comes in facing down in plan view, rather than being vertical the way it should. Not sure if there is a quick fix rather than rotating it and then redoing all the refernece planes and whatnot?

2). The same hanger family I have created has various types lus26, lus28, lus28-2, etc. that I have created and defined the sizes for. They all flex properly in the family editor, but when loaded into my project, the size remains the same no matter what element type I select. Can't seem to figure it out...

Any help is appreciated...(and I know there are Simpson families on their site, but I'm new to family creation, so learning what I'm doing wrong and how to fix it is more important to me.) Attatched is the hanger I referenced...

In the family category and parameters uncheck always vertical this will let you reorient that family any way you would like in the project.

when you create types as you have make sure your parameters that control the type sizes are type parameters not instance. for your next venture into these hangers try using a type catalog to create them.

With regards to your first question, you could also place a control in the family so that you can flip it vetically or horizontally once placed in your project.
