is there a way to import a door schedule to another project. I want to bring over a " template type" schedule so i do not have to recreate columns and catagories every time I need to make a door schedule in a new project. I know you can do view template of the schedule which i can set the formating of its apperarence.

Obviously you did not try the obvious. With both projects open, find the schedule in your browser, copy to cliboard, swith to the other project and select paste. Sometimes revit is too simple and we don't just try it... but you should. BTW - you should setup your own project template with schedules legends and oject styles already setup in it.
