Is there a way to copy a legend from one project to another? I've been able to copy just about everything else, but not legends. Revit Architecture 2009

Thanks for the response. I tried that on several legends in two projects; the "Copy to Clipboard" option is always greyed out. : ( I tried Transfer Project Standards also.

Frustrating that it's not working for me. Do you mind taking a look at attached image showing that the copy to clipboard is grayed out? Could there be something else keeping me from doing this? A permission or something? I'm able to right click copy other items. I checked worksets to make sure I can edit all. Thanks for hanging with me through this!

Ah... more detailed question - more detailed answer. Keynote legends all copy/clip. For other legends, open legend and copy/clip paste into new legend in new project. Note that when you do that, you will be importing new model components if they do not exist by same name in the target project, otherwise, even if same name, the components will be the project components.

I feel like I'm missing something. in 2011, if I right-click on the legen, I don't have the option to copy. I'm trying to transfer this to a 2013 file.
thanks.

I am not currently in 2013 so I can't check this out.
As I said in a previous post. For legends other than keynote, you can open the legend, window cross and copy. Paste into a new legend in your other project.

I tried that - but the legend is in 2011 and the new project is in 2013. the clipboard doesn't seem to want to cross over.

Can you just open the 2011 project with 2013 to upgrade it (do a save as before hand as you cannot go backwords) then try to copy it?

Perfect! that worked. I love it when it is just something I haven't thought of rather than running up against something that can't be done!
thank you!

that is what I did, but it crashed Revit. I opened the 2011 file in 2013 and did the upgrade and copy and pasted...then CRASH. It seemed to work - just need to find time to do the upgrade again.
thanks.
