I am pretty new to the Revit world, but my company is putting together a rather large building and I have been assigned to do the MEP BIM work on it. There is a separate group doing the architecture, but my main focus now is the duct work. I finished the first floor Friday before I left for the weekend and we updated it into the Navisworks program and the one and only thing I was really looking for before I left was not to be seen: the ceiling diffusers. I am wondering that if my diffusers and their ceilings (the archs) are on the same plane that the diffusers won't show through unless I drop them about a quarter inch so they punch through. This can't be the right way to do it in my head so I was wondering if there was anyone out there who has come across this situation before. I am going to run into it again with the lighting fixtures when I do the electrical I am sure, so I would love to get someone's advice before that happens.

I met with an electrical contractor doing BIM and he said something like you have to make your own paper thin ceilings in MEP and attach your ceiling diffusers to it and then when it gets exported to Navisworks that will get cleared up, but as I said I am new and don't want to head down the wrong path if I don't have to. Thanks for any information everyone...
