G'day there fellow RevitCity members, just needing a bit of help on a family I've created. Its meant to represent a truck pulling 2 trailers. Ive done the truck, the 1st trailer and the second one. Now, what I want to do is to load them all into a generic family and join them up so that everything is attached to each other and be able to rotate the angle of each trailer thru a set parameter to simulate a specific frame as the truck goes thru a determined turning path.

So I've tried locking dimensions to the end of refrence lines and/or reference planes. I can get one trailer to do what its supposed to do but as soon as I rotate the other one then I get a constraints are not satisfied error. I've tried doing 2 refence lines and aligning each component to it but as soon as I rotate it the same error comes up.

Im hoping that someone out there may have done something similar or have some ideas as to how to do this cause its driving me mad. So what I've done is simplied the model down to a basic plate with holes in it and loaded 3 instances of it into the family.

Hope Im making sense, thanks...

I can see why Revit has problems with what you are doing.   I'm not sure this will solve your problem but I think it will.

Try nesting your second trailer in the first trailer family and rotating the second trailer from there.  You will have to pass this angle through to the first trailer from your host family.
