Hello

I take the new Revit 2010 when I open 2009 files is not problems to open, but when I need to open or opened the Revit 2009 the file created on Revit 2010 is not possible. I search to file save as if available a transfer format of 2010 to 2009 but is impossible to see this tool. I see the only format  rfa or rvt existing on both version program. My partner take a revit 2009 and he's not change to the new 2010 for a few problems. If any person take any information for resolve or not possible, please replay the information.

In autocad 2010-09-08 take diferent save files format, Why is not possible same attribute on revit? Why is only rfa or rvt with out before version uses?

 Thanks for all

Hello autocad,

Welcome !

You cannot saveas backwards in REVIT. It is not possible. REVIT is too complicated and is a full BIM software application across multi-disciplines. unlike autocad which is mostly a vector based program with some acis solids which are not usually part of construction documents.

There has been numorous posts here from new REVIT users over the years. REVIT can read older REVIT files but older versions of REVIT cannot read new REVIT files because there is no saveas <older version>. Never has been and never will be.

Have a look at this recent post > http://www.revitcity.com/forums.php?action=viewthread&thread_id=17139
