Hi All,

I am new to Revit, and I would like to know if there is a way that we can custom the Orbit (spinning model) command. Which file define the way (what keys) to orbit?  Why can Revit to orbit like ACAD?   Thanks for any reply.

Just in case you don't know, you can use the middle mouse wheel button to zoom.

Use the 3d orbit cube in a 3d view to orbit.

Or I find the best way to orbit in REVIT is to:

Go to a 3D VIEW

Click an object to select it, (preferably something you want at the centroid of the orbit)

Then hold in the shift key + hold in the middle mouse wheel button and move the mouse side to side or up / down. You can let your hand off the wheel button to change the position and continue to orbit.

When done, click nothing or ESC key to de-select the object you previously selected.

Also, look up 'orbit' in the help menu.

Hi Daryl, thanks for the info.  Exactly, I am looking for ways to custom the default setting of orbit, sicne holding down shift require 2 hands to do the simple operation.  Thank you again for your help.

Try holding down the mouse wheel and hitting the space bar...this cycles your middle button options allowing the use of one hand. Otherwise check into the steering wheel.
