I am a novice at Revit and would like to learn an easy effective way to creat wall sections for a wall profile. For example a log home wall witgh a particular wall profile in section.
Does one create it in families?? or what

are you talking about creating a wall type or a section detail for a wall type? to create a wall just pick any wall and duplicate, than just adjust the setting to suite your wall, you can't create a log wall, you can do it as an in place family but it will get too complicated for now, just have the thickness of the wall and use horizontal lines for wall face.
if you are talking a bout a wall section detail that you can use again and again, you will need to create it as a detail component and reuse it, or attach it to a section through your wall....

You can also attach a profile sweep to your wall types in section. This will sweep this profile along the length of the wall. See the attached image.
