If building pad is used a basement floor, the pad is set inside of foundation walls.  What do you do with topo sharing same space as foundation wall? look at jpg where foundation wall ends and generic wall above attaches.

Looks like you need to edit that pad sketch and move it into the wall.

I could definitely move the sketch of the pad out, thought of that, I would then be showing the foundation wall on top of the slab which isn't standard practice.  I can hide pad in view and insert concrete floor using floor command, just an extra step.

Use one pad to form the excavation (ie: using 'pick walls' method) and then turn off it's visibility and one pad for the basement slab.
