I am finding that when I go back to a section or elevation view, that some of my keynote leaders have literally moved away from their assigned host.  Thereby giving the '?'.  I then have to move the leader BACK in place again.  Has anyone else experienced this problem?  It's really annoying and Pinning the keynote itself doesn't seem to help.

Any ideas?

Mars

Have the leaders moved away from the object, or did the object move away from the leader?

I suspect that the latter is the case and is causing the missed leader.

In this case, the leaders are moving away from the object.  I have opened the same project multiple times and have had the same problem in the elevation views as well as the wall section views.  Nothing has moved.  One day they will be in place and the next day the project file may show them moved, displaying the ? mark.

Any ideas on this one?  I tried pinning the text but that doesn't seem to help.

When you placed the keynote, did you pay attention to what you were pointing to and tab through that to get the correct item?

Did you copy the keynote around rather than placing it?

Thanks for your reply.  The situation I have is: I am keynoting an 8" (metal panel) girt wall.  Now I have added profiles to this wall to create the z-girts, C-Base Channel, and the drip edge at the bottom.  I have established a material type for each profile with it's own keynote as part of the material identity.  The issue here is, sometimes when I go back to my elevation or section views, the keynote that was pointing to the "material" element (profile) is now a question mark.

I did not copy the keynote as I have already found that does not work well (if at all).

So it's a little sketchy as to why Revit behaves this way.  I would like to figure a way to prevent this from happening.

A couple of possibilities.

  1. Section/elevation markers moved ... view still looks the  same.
  2. I've seen similar lost connections when something gets reloaded - like a family.

You have a good point with your first possibility.  Like all other things, I'm going to see if section view markers can be pinned or locked.

Hopefully that is it.
