The section symbol in plan view should be align-able.  That is, I don't want to rotate it to be in line with an angled wall.  I just want to hit align just like I do with pipes and ducts.  Any idea how to make it happen?

I tried to edit the section family so that I could make the section line a model line or something I could grab while in the align command, but it doesn't give me the option to edit.

Thanks

Joe

Place a couple of sections on a sheet... stay out in your view.... move your title and watch what happens.  Revit will give you alignment lines automatically.  Just don't zoom in - this is not AutoCAD.

Actually, I'm trying to align the section line (head, line, tail) in a plan view (inside the model). I think it's also called a section marker.

The section box on a sheet is ok...i can align that.

Thanks

You can rotate the whole section cut... line head tail... just click on it and rotate.

To align with something - just move your rotation point to a line on that object and rotate to another point along the object's line.

well I guess this should be on a wish list of some sort.  I know how to rotate the section marker.  That was a huge step in the right direction which I learned about several months ago.

It would be quicker if I could use the align tool to do the same thing.

Thanks anyway!
