HI. This is (hopefully) and easy one - I'm trying to rename and delete materials from the Materials Editor. There are 3 buttons at the bottom - Duplicate, Rename and Delete. For some reason, only Duplicate works, the other two are greyed out. Is there some other window I have to go to to delete and rename, or is my Revit just doing wonky things? Thanks!

Make sure the material is not in use.

Ok, but how about for aaall the other materials? Those buttons are always greyed out, even if I've just created the material. Like say, I made a typo in the material name - I have to cancel out of the box (losing whatever other materials I may have created by then) and start again. Nedless to say, I'm very careful entering info. I know I should be able to rename it but for some reason it won't let me. I have a student version of Revit 2009, installed very recently, and it's always been that way. Thoughts?

I would say it probably is because you have the student version.

Oh, I got it - I have to access my Materials list from Settings instead of going through Family Types. Thanks anyway!
