Hi all,

Can anyone please suggest me in taking quantities for railing from revit architecture 2008. This would help me a lot.

Thanks,

Sujatha.

How about a simple schedule that includes the length field?

Based on the diameter of the rod and Weight of the steel.

I want to calculate the quantity of steel required for railing and baluster for the following given attatchment ( Detail railing.jpg) from the revit Quantities. Is it possible. Please let me know.

Sure, it's possible - use an estimating program developed especially for railings!

This is REVIT....

I guess I was too subtle.

I'm saying this is a BIM program, not an estimating program.  It can give you a lot of imformation but not the detail you are looking for.  Maybe you should experiment with exporting a model to a databese and seeing what information it provides.  I suggest you export to excell where you can add the formulas you need.
