I have used white solid fills and grey transparent fills in my plans and elevations to draw aspects over the model which I didn't want to actually model. These come out as solid black in my printing when using "black and White". If i use grey scale the colours in the model don't print black as they need to - any suggestions on how to print black and white with fills at grey scale? I am in revit 2010.

Try changing your fills to a half tone ... that may get you close to what you want. Right click - over-ride graphics in view.
