I need to show a gyp clg hatch but when i set it to show, it makes all my elevations with gyp show the hatch as well.  how would i go about showing the hatch on the ceiling plans so it does not change my other views

Is this just for one view and not a model element?  If so, the make it be a fill.  If it is a model element then create a new for this one ceiling and give it its own material with this pattern.

IT IS JUST FOR THE VEIW.  i WAS TOYING AROUND WITH BOTH OF THOSE IDEAS BUT WAS NOT SURE WHICH WOULD HAVE BEEN THE CORRECT WAY TO GO ABOUT IT

SINCE IS JUST THE VEIW IS THERE A FLOOD TYPE FOR THE FILL OR DO I NEED TO SELECT THE FILL SHAPE.

 THANKS

It sounds like the material you selected for the ceiling is the same as the wall material and when you changed the fill pattern for the gyp board it shows in both the wall and ceiling. Do what WHubb suggests. Make a new material and apply it to the ceiling in the properties and change your wall material fill pattern to blank. This should get you a gyp board pattern on your ceilings and no pattern on the walls.
