If anyone can help that would be amazing, im trying to place a certain colour on one wall only but it keeps chnging the colour of the entire project, anyone have the answer please, cheers x

pick in that wall then go to the properties>edit/new and "Duplicate", give another name to that wall, then change the material, don't forget to duplicate the material (name) also...

You can split the face of a wall, define a new surface are and then "paint" a material onto the wall suface and any split face of the wall.  This works for other object types as well.  Just be careful though not to violate basic BIM principles and choose to paint only things with a nominal thickness to them.  Brick for instance is probably best modeled into a wall type rather than simply painted onto a surface.
