We currently have our engineer seals in cad. I was wondering if there is some way of having them put in revit other than converting the cad file to a jpeg and importing them into revit. I find that when this is done, the imported image sometimes is really light and hard to see.

If they are drafted in CAD, Just convert them to a Revit CAD - 2D linework.  You may have some problems because you don't want any hatches or polylines .... and the line length must meet REVIT's minimum lengths.

So do I just start a new drafting view and then import the cad file?

You can do that .... but you it would be good to read some of the posts here on imported CAD files.   Clean it up before importing.  Every layer in CAD becomes a new linetype in REVIT - you can get rid of these.

We also use a junk Revit file to bring in Autocad details, even if it is not a standard detail but I want to rob from an Autocad file. This allows me to clean up the file before importing the detail into my project file. By cleaning up that detail and changing the linetypes. I stand less chance of importing Autocad items, hatches, text styles, etc. and bogging down my project. Then, we use the Insert from File > Views command to bring in the drafting views.

Ok thanks, I'll try that. The only thing I see being an issue is that when you "drag" a drafting view onto the sheet, it comes with the title under it. Is there a way to get rid of this, or do I just have to pull it off the sheet?
