This morning when I went to open a backup file to restore a floor slab that someone on the project accidentally deleted I realized that Revit stopped making backup files a couple weeks ago.  There are no backups under the normal backup folder and there are no previous versions when I go into File--Open--right click Properties over the file name then click on the Previous Versions folder (normally under here I will find previous versions of the file saved at 7am and noon for like the past 4 days).

Any ideas how to restore the backup function?  I am working on a large project, so we have multiple people in the office working on the project and have various parts of the buiilding as linked files...and all files stopped creating backups 2 weeks ago.  It was about this time that we first Audited the files, not sure if this may have to do with anything??

We work in Revit Arch 2009.

Thanks for your help and suggestions!!

Probably stopped about the time you enabled worksets ... ?

Read your HELP using the search for "backup".  You need to understand this process ... also look at your local file directory and you may be surprised.  Remember  - you can open detacted - roll back.

BTW - I like to freeze my local copies at various intervals creating new locals... I think you will find that practice helpful and it doesn't affect the central or server space.
