I am creating a new sheet and trying to crop a view. I am successful in doing that however I am unable to do this without affecting the view in active space. Is there a way to resize a viewport on a sheet without affecting the view in active space like you can with a viewport in AutoCad from paper space to model space? Is it more effective to duplicate the view?

Not really sure if this helps but if you right click on the view you can activate it while still seeing the rest of the sheet.  You could then change your crop region.  If you can changing scale i find that if you go into the element properties you can change the scale and the view tag moves with the view.  If you change the scale while the view is activated the view tag does not move. Hope that helps

That's not quite what I was asking, I need the same scale. I don't think it's possible to do what I initially hoped to, but I have found a suitable alternative. If you right click the view you want to modify and insert into your sheet, select duplicate view, then select duplicate as a dependant, you will end up creating a sub view of your original that you can view any way you like, independant of the original. Thanks anyway. Hope this helps anyone with similar interests.
