I'm a bit confused how some parameterised profiles work... If I open Circular Handrail.rfa I see a circle but no reference planes or dimensions... How does the relationship for the Type Parameter work? There must be something going on since an attempt to delete the Type parameter states that is it used in 2 places; I cannot see such places. many of the stock families have the reference planes and dimensions turned off. to turn them back on, open visibility graphics (VG or VV) and select the "Annotation Catigories" tab. from there you can turn the ref planes and dim's on. there are many posts regarding parameters. i suggest you run a search here in the forum. it sounds as if you may be trying to delete a type of a family, while instances of that type still exist in your drawing.

Thanks. That was the problem. did VG, and turned on AnnotationCategories, and I can now see the Ref Planes and constraints. RegardsSD
