HI

-i have been working on a fire plan, with fire escape routes and colored walls by fire rating

-the fire plan is a duplicated view of a floor plan (independent) 

-i created new area plan type - fire compartments

-then i wanted to create an area plan from the fire plan floor plan view, but i cannot select it as an option

-this is needed to color schedule the fire compartments in the building (2,3,4 rooms - up to 150m2 for a compartment)

-i dont want to start over on doing my fire plan as an area plan

When you create area plans, you have to select a level, not a view. So this is why you cannot start off with the fire plan.

 Just make your new area plan. copy and paste all the Detail items, then apply view template, and choose the old fire plan and the template. This should get you to the same point with not a lot of extra work.
