I am trying to apply wall sweep to a architectural column (like in pic) and Revit 09 would not let me do it. Is there any way to do so, or do I need to draw a wall in its place? Thanks!

I find that wall sweeps are very limited for base. You have much more control if you use inplace family for those custom type situations. (you could do all the base for the project in 1 family)
