How do you upload architectural font into Revit?

Why isn't it offered with Revit?

Can all of the existing font on the drawing be changed over once new font is uploaded?

There are several posts on this in the forums if you just search them.  REVIT uses the windows system TTF fonts.  Anything loaded there can be used but AutoCAD's SHX files are NOT TTF so you can not use those.

You can change a text definition to any TTF font that is loaded in windows.

found it in help

To map TrueType fonts

  1. Open the shxfontmap.txt file in a text editor.

This file resides in the Data folder of the Revit Architecture installation directory.

  2. On a new line, enter the SHX file name.
  3. Press Tab.
  4. Enter the name of the font you want to map it to.
  5. Save and close the file.

You do not need to restart Revit Architecture for the font mapping to take effect. If you have already imported the file, you will need to import it again.

This does not put this font style in REVIT - it simply maps what font in REVIT you want to use as a substitute for a dwg file that you are importing.

Pretty simple to do. Find the font you want. I use ARchitxt. Go to C: Windows/Fonts. Copy and paste your font to this file location and it will be available when you modify your text and dimensions.

Good Luck
