Hey, I have been using revit Architecture 2009 and I was having a problem seeing my downlight-recessed can light in plan view, the light was not being rendered. I found that if you adapt the instructions for the "Displaying a Wall-Based Lighting Fixture in a Floor Plan" in the help area of the program, you can get them to work in plan view. I know a few people were having problems with this and I hope this is of use.

a couple things try and drop the light a few inches to see if its being blocked by the ceiling and make sure the light is turned on when you render

The recessed lights were rendering in other views, 3D etc, but not in plan. This was because the light was not being cut by the cut plane of the plan. That is why I had to follow the steps of the help document and with the invisible line being cut by the cut plane, it now renders fine. Thanx
