So this morning we had a nice little treat. Any project we have done crashes and has a fatal error when we try to open it. After working on it for hours, we think it is a Vista problem. There was an update over the weekend, and ANY project (in 2009 or 2010) we try to open crashes and has to close. However we can open anything (including 2010) on a XP machine. We were all working on it just last friday as well with 0 issues. We have tried everything. Detaching, auditing, even reinstalling Revit 2010. Has anyone else had this issue today (maybe since the Microsoft update this weekend?) thanks

Can you please go to the Windows Update dialog window, click on View History, and then provide the update name(s), KB code, Definition number and date installed? Please do this with either whatever you THINK was installed last or at least the last five update. <qab>

see if your update installed IE8 -Internet Explore 8- if so, that may be the problem

.... as I would imagine that you would be in a hurry to get some work done, use the Snipping Tool in your Accessories folder to save an image of the "View update history" window maximized (or simply get a screenshot), and then try a system restore to a time it was working. You can use the snipping image to later review and debug the issue. IMPORTANT: Backup your data before doing a system restore.

ok guys, thanks for your responses. After a few of us (IT guy included) were messing with this for the last 2.5 hrs, ALL that needed done was our machines needed to be shut down and restarded. This fixed everything. We are so mad we didnt try that first. Oh well. The good news is nothing from Friday was lost and we can keep working!
