Hello all,

I haven't found a way, but hopefully someone can think of a workaround for the following problem.

I want to constrain a Schedule to a setposition on my Titlesheet, relative to it's borders, but there does not seem to be a way i can constrain this.Dimensions won't 'stick' to a schedule, i have also tried pinning the schedule within a group.

I want to effectively constraining a revision schedule to the top left of the Titlesheet as i flex a family for different paper sizes.

I do not want to place the revision box directly above the titleblock itself ( i know, it would be easier, it's just not corporate sorry! Winking

 Help would be appreciated.

 Ta much

Colin...

We don't use parametric title sheets, we create different sheets for each size drawing.  That would seem to be an easier solution.

Hi

Thanks for that, you're right, it would be an easier solution, but that's not really what i was asking, I am deliberately taking the more complicated route as i think it's potentially better in the long run.

Parametrically everything is fine, the revision boxes move when you flex the titlesheet family.

Here is the problem though  when you bring this family into a project, it leaves revision boxes for the different Sheet Sizes in the sheet view if you decide to change the Sheet Size.

For example  , if you start with an A1 sheet it creates the revision box in the correct location, if you then switch to A3, it leaves a revision box where the A1 revision box is, and also create a revision box for the A3 variant....rather strange...( Revit 2009 by the way )

I like the challenge, sometimes easy doesn't quite give the satisfaction...anyone else with any advice?

Hi 'Coreed' , i have sent an email to your registered email address?

Is this the correct address first of all? If so i would rather send direct rather than post on the forum?

We make separate Titleblocks for every sheet size with the revision box already sized, set in place and ready to go.

All I have to do is load the sheet when it comes time.  In the end, I can live with the results thereof in consideration of the improved productivity.

Hopefully that would work for you as well.

A fortune cookie once gave me this fortune: "Impossible standards just make life difficult." I've taped it to my monitor, since this is especially true when those standards were set up for a different software...

+1 to bert on this.  As cool as this would be to get to work, qabulin's way is the only I know of.

Now for a similar question: Does anyone have a nifty trick for lining up the Schedules so they are the same size and appear to be the same length?  So far the only way I have found to do this is to overlap the schedule beneath the other and just drag the arrows to adjust the columns to a similar width.  It would seem there should be an easier way; maybe a simpler way even.

Tips, anyone?

Personally speaking, that's pretty much what I do.

It may seem like a nuisance, but so is last minute comments that dont fit in schedules... which the arrows are handy for.

I hated all the "dialing" and tweaking I had to do with the CAD schedules. ^_^

mars - what you are doing is what we all do I think.  After all - this is just a visual issue and this works and is simple.

Why does it have to be precise down to the 1/128 ?  I think that is just a CAD carry over thought process.

OK, ok... I'll admit it.  I have used schedules in CAD and it was one of those "well if it can be done in CAD, why not Revit?" ideas.  It IS a good idea to go ahead and make schedules as part of the template page you load.  I'll have to see if my Drafting Senior will consider doing this.

Thanks for the response guys!
