Hello,

I downloaded some families at RevitCity but when I wanted rendering my project these families are just white.

I tried to edit these families and changed the elements properties but when I downloaded the edited families in my project , they are white.

How can I modified the elements properties of these families?

Family example: Double_Barn_ Door_2211

(excuse me for the grammar I am french)

Thank you

Comment allez-vouz mon ami?...look, open your family file and go to Settings-->Materials... and there just pick "Replace" button and change its materials i.e. "Clear Yellow Pine" for one of the Render Appearance Library materials (See attached). This happens because your door was made in an earlier version of Revit. J'espère que cela vous aide....au revoir!!!!...

Thank you for answering me.

I have already done you said but it is still white. You told me that happens because this family  was made in the earler version of Revit, does that mean I can never change the materials for the rendering?

another question:

When I downloaded Landscape_rock_15 is the same. it is still white. but on te Gallery of RevitCityit it appears with numerous colors. And when I go to the file family they are no materials.

Thank you for you help

(you speak french very well)

Well, if you have already loaded this door into your project, change the material there (I mean in your project file not in the family file, this because you have it already loaded). "You told me that happens because this family  was made in the earler version of Revit, does that mean I can never change the materials for the rendering?", of course you can, just open your family files and assign the new materials in the Materials Dialogue box and save before you load them into a project. Do it even with the rock_15 you are talking about. Merci mon ami, Je veux practiquer mon français un peu...

Excuse me but I am a Newbee.

I Have Revit2010 now.

so I'm in my project.

1/ I clic on  my Double_Barn_ Door_2211 in my  first plan view or 3d view

2/ I clic on "edit Family"

3/I am in family file. I click on a element of my family

4/I clic on "Instance properties" and clic on the row "clear yellow pine ... "

5/ materials box  appears. I clic "apparence" and "replace" by "Wood Elm Burl Stained Light No Gloss" for example.

6/ I apply and say OK

7/ I load this family in my project

8/ I chose " overwrite the existing version and its parameter values"

9/I "rendering", and it is still write.

 Did I do something wrong?

pas  "pactiquer" mais pratiquer sans le "c".
