I have just bought a new computer that will finally enable me to use 2009 & 2010. However I have many projects still in 2008. How do I transfer the materials library  (mlib file) over. Appreciate any help.

You Can't, 2009 and 2010 don't use the ".Mlib" , in 2008 the Mlib materials are from "Accustudio", in 2009 they leave that render engine and use the "OpenGL", Revit 2010 use "Direct3D", so, when you open the "Old" project in 2009 or 2010, "They" will recognize "Some" of the existing materials but, 90% of them you must reasign... I hope you understand....
