Once you open a file in 2010 are you no longer able to open it in an earlier version? Such as 2009? If not is there a way around this?

As far as I know Revit never has and never will be able to save down. The closet thing to saving down would be to export to IFC and then open that in a previous version. You would lose most of the parametric data but the model would still be intact. HTH Nick
