I have a family that I created for a project that is showing up like I need it to in plan and section views.  The family is a structural column family created with a revolve and has a material applied to it.

In the image, Plan-Wireframe, the two connectors can be seen in plan (concentric circles), the section marker can also be seen cutting the right connector and ending through the left connector.  When viewed with a hidden line style neither of the connectors are visible.  The view range is set to be 1 foot above and 2 feet below the level of the plan view.  The cut plan is 1" below the level, so they should be cut by the plane, but they are not showing up.  When I go to the section view that cuts the two connectors, only the right connector shows up, the left connector will show partially if I hover over it with the cursor.  If I change the left connector to a default column family it becomes visible in the section view and plan view.

Is there something I missed when I created my family?  I need both connectors to show up in the plan and section views.  Thanks for your help.

check your VG, make sure that the particular items are turned on in each view. Maybe you need to make a void space in the concrete to allow it to show better.

The column family is set to display in VG.  I had that same thought about removing the concrete from where I am placing the connector, but another column family will show through just fine.

I don't want to sound stupid, I assume that you know there are two types of columns. Real Structural Columns and Architectural Columns, I had a little run in with this.
