Hello,

Recently, I built a house in revit using the default.rvt default project template only to find out that i needed the Residental-default.rvt project template for the electrical plan view. I dont want to start all over because its a big house and i need time. So is there a way where i can maybe change the project template without copying or starting over? or possibly adding the electrical plan view for three floors?

Please i need your assistance. Thank you

  1. Open your project
  2. Open the Residental-default.rvt
  3. In the Project Browser, Right Click on the electrical plan and choose "Create View Template from View"
  4. Name it something appropriate like "Electrical Plans"
  5. OK
  6. Switch to your project
  7. Go to Manage-->Transfer Project Standards (RAC2010)
  8. Choose Check None
  9. Then check "View Templates"
  10. OK
  11. Create a New Floor plan for the view that you want to have an electrical plan of.
  12. Right Click on the view in the project browser
  13. Choose "Apply View Template"
  14. Select "Electrical Plans"
  15. Apply
  16. Done

Hope this helps.  Sounds like a lot of work but its a relatively simple process.
