I'm using revit architecture 2009, How can I rehost the revit family light fixtures in order to make them "face based". I'm trying to hang light fixtures from a sloped roof, but I just can't figure out how to use the roof as a host for the fixtures. Is this possible, do we have some downloads I can build off of, or do I need to make a new face based family from scratch. Thanks for any help

Are you trying to do this? I don't think you can creat a single parameter to do that. You can try to come up with a formula if its a fix slope and height relationship. For me, I didn't bother. I just manually calculate the height of the lamp from the point of connection using one parameter. Measure the floor to ceiling height minus the height of the fixture, this gives your desired height.

You won't be able to transfer much of use to the face based template and as such you'd be best off starting from scratch.

Just use the generic model face based template and then change the family category to lighting fixture.

If you are requiring what mhans suggests then you would need to setup a parameter to control the angle of the light fixture so it isn't just perpendicular to its host...
