I noticed that when I fill in room areas and drag in a color legend and go to another plan and come back to the plan I drew the legend in everything stays.  But if I want to use the area boundary tool and place tags and then place a legend and go to another plan EVERYTHING DISAPPEARS.  Anyone know what I am doing wrong.  I want to color coat units that have multiple closed rooms in them (which is why I am using the area boundary tool)

Area lines are model elements, sounds like you may be duplicating your area plan to create a new one and then modifying all the boundaries and going back to you previous to find its changed?  Am I correct?

Area boundary lines below to particular Area Schemes.  If you need to create a different type of area plan on the same level then you need to create a new area scheme and apply your view to that particular scheme.
